Coach James Kavanagh - Company Director
Hails from: Liverpool, England

James grew up in the soccer crazy city of Liverpool in England, and has been playing the game since he could walk. He grew up playing for various clubs in the Liverpool area before studying at Liverpool University where he achieved a BSc Combined honors degree in Sports Science with an emphasis on Teaching and Coaching methodology.

Whilst at Liverpool University James played for the men's soccer team and was part of the university squad which won the BUSC national championship in 2000.

Whilst at University James coached youth players for Wigan Athletic FC of the English Premier League and visited the USA during summers to coach teams in America. He has coached in over 20 different States from East to West coast and has a wealth of experience working with players of all ages and abilities.

McDonald Tshwaranang -

Full time Coach + Program Operations Coordinator

From: Gaborone, Botswana
Favorite team: Barcelona

Coach McDonald is arriving from Des Moines, Iowa, where he did his Bachelors in Management Information Systems. But, he was born and bred in Gaborone, Botswana. He got a soccer scholarship to play soccer at Grand View University under a Scottish born coach Blair Reid. At Grand View University, McDonald is a two time academic all conference selection. He is also a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Academic- All American.

Prior to coming to the United States, McDonald played soccer in semi pro clubs in Botswana like Township Rollers and Uniao Flamengo Santos. He has represented his country at both the National U17 and National U20 where he captained the team to its first ever National Under 20 world cup qualifiers elimination round.

During his time at Grand View McDonald coached for Vision Soccer Academy. At the Academy, he was responsible for coaching both the U9 and U10 boys and girls teams.

Coach Jake K.

From- County Durham, England
Favorite Team- Newcastle United “Howay the lads”
Returning coach

Jake is from a small village in County Durham and has completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport and Exercise Development from New College Durham graduating student of the year.

Jake represented various teams in local leagues- Gainford Cross Keys in Division 1 after winning promotion from Division 2 the season before finishing runners up. Wearhead United in Division 2 where he was awarded a managers choice award. Jake also had a very successful collegiate career spending 6 years playing under Newcastle United Academy coaches, where he won back to back league cup trophies and finished runners up twice in the league. He was also awarded player of the season for 2016-17 season.

While at college Jake worked with Durham Women’s Football Club analyzing teams and coaching in the youth development stage. Whilst at Durham, Jake received mentorship from Vancouver Whitecaps Mainland Academy head coach Martin Herdman and various other UEFA A & B licensed coaches. He also worked in various local schools coaching recreational sports to mixed aged and ability groups. Jake spend last summer enjoying the soccer and sunshine with Vision Soccer Training. Over the winter, he returned to England and continued his professional development by working with a professional club, and coaching players one to one. He also shadowed Newcastle United Under 12s head coach and coached college teams under his guidance and mentorship. Jake attended the FA National Futsal Conference where he received Information, knowledge and guidance from some of the top national Futsal Coaches working today.

Coach David P.

From: Liverpool, England
Favorite Team – Liverpool FC
Returning coach

Playing soccer from an early age for amateur clubs and school teams, David left high school and began coaching in college at 16 gaining his NVQ Certificates in Level 1, 2 and 3 in Football Coaching. As a part of his qualifications working in elementary schools gaining early experience of working with youth soccer.

Once qualified from college, he spent a period of 4 years working in America for different organisations and across as many as 8 states around the east coast and mid west. In this period he spent a year working with MLS team Chicago Fire. In this role he worked with various elite level teams in the community and was successful in winning various league and cup competitions.

After leaving America he spent time working across Liverpool and the surrounding area of Merseyside in schools and for local teams before taking up a role with English professional club Tranmere Rovers FC. As part of his role with Tranmere David was sent on assignment to China where he spent over a year developing the game in a large city where soccer wasn't apart of the culture and helped grow the game among youth players.

Coach Kieran R.

From: Liverpool, England

Favorite Player - Thierry Henry
Most excited to: go to a basketball game and potentially find a soccer team to play for.

Kieran is a coach with a valid mix of playing and coaching experience. While studying at Myerscough college, he played in their football academy which has seen a number of its students sign professional football contracts around the world. During his time there (ages 16-19) he played for AFC Blackpool and Fleetwood town who are now in the English football league 1.

Kieran has worked in the US before, already having coached in 7 states, but most recently worked for Professional football club, Tranmere Rovers. While working for Tranmere he was stationed in China working closely with the community, schools and college level soccer.

During his time in China, Kieran worked alongside Tony Walmsley, who’s is the former coach of the Central Coast Mariners (Hyundai A-League) as they worked together to select 23 player squad to represent Inner Mongolia U18 girls.

Coach Darren L.

From: County Durham, England

Most excited to: To experience a different culture and environment as well as using my skills and experience to develop youth football in the USA..

Darren grew up in a small town called Consett, which is located in the county of Durham. Darren competed in a wide range of sports growing up, but football was the sport he excelled in.

In his youth Darren played for the highly successful Swalwell Juniors Club which is located just outside Newcastle Upon Tyne. In his time at Swalwell Juniors Darren competed against the academies of professional clubs such as Newcastle united FC, Sunderland AFC, Hartlepool FC, Carlisle United.

After leaving school, Darren studied at New College Durham. Whilst studying he also represented the college’s men’s football team, during the time he played for the college he won 2 league titles and 3 NECL titles.

Darren graduated from New College Durham with a BSc (Hons) degree in Sport and Exercise Development and a HNC in Sports Coaching. He has also completed his English FA coaching licenses in football and futsal coaching.

After college Darren spent a season coaching for Consett AFC before moving to work as a full-time coach for the REEVO coaching team. In this role Darren went into schools and delivered PE lessons and lead before and after school football skills sessions for players at the school. Most recently Darren coached for Craig’s coaching. This role also involved working with schools and also included working with a U14 youth team for Derness Valley FC.

Coach Gavin M.

From: London, England
Favorite Team – Arsenal (as he puts it, “unfortunately”)
Most excited to: Work with players in a different country..

Gavin was born in Dublin, Ireland and moved to London when he was 6 years old, where he started playing soccer. He grew up in South London and has played for various leagues teams in the South London league.

Gavin has a wealth of coaching experience having worked with both youth and adult teams in the London area. He started coaching 10 years ago in adult soccer as an assistant coach before quickly progressing in to a head coaching role. On the youth side Gavin started out coaching U8 and U10 players a local youth club in his area and has most recently worked as the head coach for AFC Phoenix Reserves Women’s team in the Greater London Women’s Football League.

Gavin has recently graduated from university with honors on a Sport and Exercise Science degree and will be starting a Masters in Performance Soccer Coaching at St Mary's University this fall.

Our full-time coaching staff are supported by a group of exceptional part-time coaches. Our part-time coaches are high energy and outgoing individuals, that lead and assist coaching sessions at a variety of soccer programs throughout the year.
